Well… this is not the post I planned for today.In true kitchen fashion, I tried to move a little too fast this morning and had a run-in with the mandolin that’s sending me to take care of a small (but very real) medical situation.Out of an abundance of caution—and because I wouldn’t dare serve you anything less than my absolute best—Urban Table will be closed today.I’m so sorry for any inconvenience, especially on a Lenten Friday. Here at The 443, we have created an intimate home for live, original music that boasts a top-notch sound system and a comfortable, unique, and funky vibe.We have designed a space where the focus is solidly on the music. We don’t have a pool table, dart boards, a jukebox, or Quick Draw. There are no television sets.We fill our calendar with talented touring musicians from around the country – many of whom have never visited Syracuse before – and the very best regional performers. Our guests travel from as far away as Rochester, Buffalo, Albany, Elmira, Ithaca, Utica, Cortland... even Canada!We believe space for artists and storytellers to connect with appreciative, attentive audiences is valuable and much-needed these days. Our mission is to share the unique magic of that connection with our community as often as possible.We have a well-stocked bar with a carefully curated selection of craft beer, wine, and cocktails, but we are not a “bar” – we are an original, live music venue that happens to have a bar in it. We are not open unless we have a show or other event. Our warm and friendly staff treat guests as if they are beloved friends visiting our home.Our intimate space and that “up close and personal” feel means our limited square footage is a financial constraint – our seated capacity is only 75 people. Syracuse is feeling a little gray today…so I’m adding something sweet to the counter 💛I just iced a fresh carrot cake loaf with cream cheese frosting…and I’m cutting up little samples for anyone who wants to try a bite.Soft, spiced, a little gooey in the center…that tangy cream cheese frosting on top 😍Come in, warm up, and have a taste—on me.If it hits the way I think it will…there are a few slices available too 😉📍 Urban Table — I’ll be here until 6 pm! ...
