Montréal Mini Break: A Feast for the Senses!

Montréal Mini Break: A Feast for the Senses!

A few days in Montréal, and I’m already dreaming of my return. I rented a stunning Airbnb in the heart of Old Montréal, fully immersing myself in the charm of the neighborhood. From morning coffee to late-night bites, every experience was a delight.

Where I Ate & Sipped:

   •   Gibby’s – A classic, old-school dining experience.

   •   Tommy Café – My go-to for breakfast and coffee on the go.

   •   Nicole’s Buvette du Quartier – A leisurely four-course dinner at the bar—pure magic.

   •   Slice + Soda – Perfectly crisp pizza with a side of nostalgia.

   •   Poutine, Poutine, Poutine! – I couldn’t visit Québec without indulging in multiple versions of its world-famous dish throughout the city. Each one had its own unique spin, and every bite was pure comfort food bliss.

Market & Foodie Finds:

   •   Marché Jean Talon – A sensory wonderland. From vibrant fresh produce, high-quality meats, and handmade pasta to fragrant spices and rich olive oils for Airbnb cooking. I also couldn’t resist the fresh flowers, artisanal soaps, baked goods, and delicate pastries—each stall was a new delight.

   •   Le Beau Marché – Stumbled upon this gem near our apartment (serendipitously bumping into a bartender from Nicole’s). Here, I gathered saucisson, pâté, baguette, fresh and dried fruits, local wine, beer, and a stunning selection of artisanal cheeses—all coming together for an unforgettable charcuterie board. Oh, and locally made chocolates? A last-minute impulse buy that I have zero regrets about.

Exploring the City:

   •   Redpath Museum at McGill – A fascinating stop filled with history and wonder.

   •   Miles and miles of strolling – Just soaking in the city’s vibrant energy, historic streets, and welcoming atmosphere.

   •   Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal – Absolutely breathtaking. The architecture, the ambiance—pure magic.

   •   Jacques-Cartier Pier – A perfect spot for a scenic walk and taking in the city’s waterfront charm.

   •   Mount Royal – How could I forget this? A stunning escape within the city, offering the best panoramic views of Montréal. A perfect way to start or end the day.

The people? Warm and wonderful. The city? Absolutely stunning. And the experience? Felt like coming home.

The only regret? Forgetting to take enough photos. I was too caught up in the joy of the moment—but that just means I have to go back and do it all again, right?

À bientôt, Montréal!
